RT-301 Sapa And Bac Ha Market Tour

 ITINERARY IN DETAIL

Day 1: Hanoi - Train to Sapa

Our driver will collect you from your hotel for the transfer to Hanoi railway station for your chosen overnight train journey from Hanoi to Lao Cai. Depending on your choice of trains you may wish to dine before departing. Please ask at the tour desk for more information on the trains.

Day 2: Sapa - Trekking - Lao Chai - Ta Van Village (B, L, D)

Watch the sunrise as your train makes it’s way to Lao Cai station, pulling in at 06.00 where you meet your shuttle bus for the transfer up in to the clouds of the spectacular Sapa pass, which is 1300m high and 33km long. The ride uphill through the stunning scenery of the Tonkinese Alps takes a little over an hour giving you a glimpse of the incredible vistas and impressive rice terraces.

At 10am we start our easy trek, turning off the road on to a small path making our way down in to the valley and the Muong Hoa River, where we visit the Black Hmong village of Lao Chai. After lunch we continue to Ta Van village (1.200 m), where we meet the minority group known as the Zay people. We stay overnight with a local family in Ta Van and have our dinner here.

Day 3: Ta Van Village - Giang Ta Chai Village - Sa Pa (B, L, D)

Breakfast with our host family in Ta Van and then we continue our trek to the Red Dao people at Giang Ta Chai, The Red Dao women are famous for their colourful red embroidered clothing adorned with coins. Your local guide will tell you the legends surrounding the Red Dao and give you the chance to interact with them. Stop for lunch at a beautiful waterfall before continuing on our trek along small paths through the rice fields and across the Muong Hoa River. Your trek comes to an end at the top of Su Pan where you are met for a jeep transfer to your hotel in Sapa.

SAPA AND BAC HA MARKET

Day 4: Sapa - Bac Ha Market - Train to Ha Noi (B, L)

Depart early (6am) by private car from Sapa to Bac Ha Market. The Bac Ha Sunday market is the biggest and most colourful market in the Northwest of Vietnam and a gathering place for a diversified group of minorities including; Flower H’Mong, Tay, Fula, Thai and Nung ethnic groups.

Lunch in Bac Ha.

In the afternoon, we have a short walk to visit Ban Pho, the village of the Flower H’mong and we finish the tour with a visit to the H’Mong King Palace. Transfer by car to Lao Cai for your night train back to Hanoi.

Day 5: Hanoi

Arrive in Hanoi at 5.30am.                                        

Note:

- Bac Ha market takes place on Sunday only, so the tour MUST start on Thursday or Saturday  from Hanoi

- Pick up service from Hanoi railway station on Day 5 is NOT included
